The Department of Islamic Theology and Philosophy at the University of Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor serves as an academic platform designed to develop students’ intellectual capacities in the fields of Islamic creed, Islamic philosophy, theological thought, and contemporary Islamic discourse grounded in Islamic values and the pesantren tradition. The department is committed to producing academically distinguished graduates who possess Islamic orientation, global insight, and pesantren-based character through the integration of Islamic theology and philosophy with the classical and modern Islamic intellectual heritage within the framework of a pesantren-based higher education system.

    The Comparative Study of Religions Program at UNIDA Gontor is designed to produce graduates who are academically competent, ethically grounded, and socially engaged. Through an outcome-based education framework rooted in the Islamisation of Knowledge, students are equipped with the intellectual skills necessary for academic scholarship, critical research, and meaningful social and religious activism. Graduates are trained to analyze religious phenomena using interdisciplinary approaches while maintaining a strong Islamic worldview, scholarly integrity, and pesantren-based academic ethics. These competencies are systematically articulated in the Program Learning Outcomes (CPL), which serve as a formal reference for the knowledge, skills, and attitudes expected of graduates upon completion of the program.
